New Album “Sense of Place” available for pre-order

Excited to announce my third record, “Sense of Place” is now available for pre-order on Bandcamp:

The record features myself on vibraphone, Drew Gress on Bass, Johnathan Blake on drums and Jon Cowherd on piano and Fender Rhodes. I’m extremely happy with how it turned out and am excited to share it with you all. In the Spring, I’ll be touring the US, Europe, and Asia in support of the record. I’d love to reconnect with some old friends and meet some new! Tour dates to be announced soon.

Announcing “Sense of Place” for Destiny Records

Im excited to announce that my third album as a leader will be released in April for Destiny Records. It features bassist Drew Gress, drummer Johnathan Blake, and pianist Jon Cowherd. It was a real treat to explore some new works and familiar tunes that I love on this two day session at Sear Sound studios in Manhattan last March. Half the tracks showcase the vibes trio format and the others fill out the group sound with interlocking harmonies and counterpoint provided by Jon Cowherd on Fender Rhodes and piano. Stay up to date by following Tyler Blanton on Bands in Town as I announce tour dates this Spring which take me to Denmark, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Vienna, Rome, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Japan, and a few places in between. Excited to share this new music with you all!

Tyler Blanton/Helio Alves Group Sunday

Excited to play with master Brazilian pianist, Helio Alves in a new collaboration this sunday at 55 bar. We’re joined by a great young brazilian rhythm section of Tiago Michelin on drums and Eduardo Belo on bass. Music by Toninho Horta, Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento, Moacir Santos and others. Fun to interpret this music on the vibraphone with these masters. Sunday at 6pm at the 55 Bar in NYC.
